How to crop, frame and resize images
Choose pixel dimensions, compare the three fit modes and export JPEG, PNG or WebP with the right background and quality.
From your image to the final file
Select a JPEG, PNG or WebP, or drop it into the editor. Enter width and height in pixels, choose a mode and adjust the frame. The preview adapts to your screen; the dimensions describe the pixels in the downloaded file.
Input is limited to static files up to 20 MiB, 24 megapixels and 12,000 pixels per side. Output supports up to 16 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. Animated images and formats such as HEIC, GIF or SVG are not supported.
Three modes, with examples
Crop to fill covers the whole frame and may remove part of the image. For a 1200 × 630 banner, move the frame to keep the main subject; movement is constrained to prevent gaps.
Fit the whole image keeps everything centered, adding margins when aspect ratios differ. A landscape photo inside 1080 × 1920 leaves space above and below. Zoom and movement are disabled in this mode.
Fill with background lets you move and shrink the image on the canvas. Use a color or transparency for empty areas. Center corrects the position; reset framing returns zoom to 100%.
Transparency, format and quality
PNG preserves transparency and uses lossless compression. JPEG does not support transparency: it is flattened over the chosen background, white when transparent was selected. WebP supports transparency and adjustable quality.
Lower quality in JPEG or WebP usually reduces file size; it does not change dimensions. Enlarging a small image cannot recover details that were not there. Output is re-encoded without copying original metadata; preserving ICC profiles, HDR or printing information is not guaranteed.
Keyboard, mobile and saving
On desktop, drag or use arrow keys to move 8 pixels; Shift + arrow moves 1 pixel. Ctrl + wheel zooms only while the frame is focused. On mobile, use dragging and two fingers, as well as the precision controls.
Download generates a file on your device and shows a link to save it again. The displayed duration measures generation, not browser security checks or saving. If there is a delay after the file is ready, check your browser download status.
Changing language or theme preserves the session. Changing dimensions, mode or framing invalidates the previous download. Resetting, reloading or closing the tab clears the editing session; the original remains on your device.
